When traveling by plane you are exposed to cosmic radiation and the influencing factors are:
- altitude - exposure increases with altitude
- latitude - exposure varies according to latitude
- duration - exposure depends on the duration of the flight
It is said that a plane trip from New York to London or any other flight of similar duration and latitude and altitude exposes passengers to a quantity of radiation about as high as a chest X-ray!.
So the flights over the polar regions take double radiations than the ones over Equator.
The level of radiations doubles every 2000 m altitude!
If you want to calculate how much radiation you get for your flights you can access the public part of S.I.E.V.E.R.T - acronym in France for the Computerized System for Assessing the Exposure to Cosmic Radiation during Air Transportation:

"Green" Bucharest
Although Bucharest should have 26 sqm of green space per each inhabitant, it only has 12 sqm...now who's wondering why we are more defect than older generations?
Legi... :-)
Prima capcană a geniului:

When insted of clubbing you watch Jamie's show...
When earlier this evening I decided I was too tired to go out clubbing I didn't know a bit later I'd be petrified by what I'll be seeing at Jamie Oliver show.
A very interesting show where he showed some shocking stuff. In the present in UK a standard chicken grows to be shipped to supermarket in 39 days with an average of 60 grams / day and their shit smells like amoniac. Also the density is incredible...to the extent they can't really move much and they have almost no light in the barn they are grown. This kind of standard chicken is sold in UK for 2.5 or 2.9 pounds in supermarkets and this kind of chickens are sold also to McDonald's, KFC and other fast foods.
Then there are also 3.9 pounds chickens that are grown in 49 days and in spaces where there is more light, where the density is lower and the chickens can at least move more..
All these chickens of 2.9 and 3.9 pounds are kept indoors for the whole period.
The best option is the chicken grown in the yards, when they can live outside, where they can move freely and these kind of chickens need around 100 days to be ready for eating.
Another strange thing for me at least was how they killed the chickens...they electrocuted them and then put the knife into their neck so the blood would drain through the mouth. They said that this way they show respect to the bird as it doesn't suffer as much as through other ways of killing it.
So just think how much better we'd be just by eating chickens and eggs from our grandparents houses / farms in the countryside...
These days I was thinking why so many young people have so many health problems as opposed to our grandparents who even if they are in their 70s-80s are healthier than us.
After what I have seen tonight I know almost for sure that with the food in the supermarkets, especially the food that reaches Eastern Europe we don't stand a chance to be half as healthy as our grandparents who lived in countryside with all that healthy food just fresh and ready to be picked up from the garden. Let alone if we eat at fast foods...
For everybody who wants to see some healthy recipes from Jamie or want to read about his activities, campaigns, dvds etc, his official site is:
